Direct Object Pronouns
 
What is a D.O. (Direct Object)?
     -object that is the "done to"
     -directly receives the action of the verb
        ex.  Bill hit the ball
                                     D.O.
        * Pronouns replace that object *
        Bill hit it
        * eliminates repetition
           * Bill bought flowers.  He brought the flowers home and gave the flowers  to his wife.
 
In Spanish
     when you replace the direct object, it must agree in gender and number
 
     me - I, me                         now - us
     te - you                    
     lo -> him, it, you (formal)     los > them
     la -> her, it, you (formal)      las > you all
 
Example:
     Juan has the book (el libro)
     Juan lo tiene -> Juan has it
                              D.O.
 
     Maria brought the drinks (los bebidas)
     Maria las trajo. - Maria brought them
 
     Maria ahould bring them
     Maria debe está buscandólo.
