What is a pronoun? It takes the place of a noun.

 

*A demonstrative adjective helps to clarify WHICH object/noun you're talking about:

    -that table

    -this chair

    -that student (over there)

 

*In Spanish, like other adjectives, D.A.s (demonstrative adjective) agree in both gender and number.

 

    el~     this <este         that <ese         that(over there) <aquel       -m.s.

ellos~  these <estos     those <esos     those(over there) <aquellos  -m.p.

  ella~     this <esta         that <esa         that(over there) <aquella    -f.s.

ellas~  these <estas     those <esas     those(over there) <aquellas  -f.p.

 

Examples:

-that table - esa mesa

-this chair - esta silla

-that student - aquel estudiante

-these pencils - estos lapiz

-those girls - esas chicas

-those papers - aqullos papel
